The Plain Sings

About the Film

Zhina, a 13-year-old girl, dreams of becoming a singer one day. Instead, her conservative father sends her out into the pasture to herd sheep every day. There, she secretly pursues her passion. In the remote mountainscape, Zhina finds herself stuck in a conflict of desire and tradition which the fictional drama conveys with little dialogue and great sensitivity.
